Life is like a moving river, and it keeps flowing. Nothing will stop the river from flowing. But while life is flowing, what are we making of it? Are we making the ride enjoyable?
Are we enjoying the journey of this river called life or are we poisoning our life with negativity that creates displeasure, pain, anxiety, and stress. These displeasures or negative emotions destroy the pleasure of the flowing river. Instead of the river enjoying the beauty of its flow, it can get caught amongst boulders and mountains. However, the river continues flowing across all these obstacles, still enjoying its journey.
A flowing river can complain for a thousand reasons. It can curse the rocks every time it splashes against one, complain against the hot Sun shining at it, and worry about people rowing boats in it and spitting into it ‑ if a river did all these, it would never enjoy its journey.
Similarly, in life, while a lot of people put us down and do things that create stress and anxiety, our challenge is to remain unaffected by all these and continue flowing like a moving river.
